"Favourites", or rather because the software is American, "favorites" are a very useful feature of Windows Internet Explorer. Having a few minutes to spare before my evening meal, I decided to count how many websites I have in my own "favorites".
And the answer, which totally took me by surprise, is......
568.
Five hundred and sixty eight! Wow! That's a lot of favorites.
Now because I'm a qualified accountant, you shouldn't be surprised to learn that I do in fact have my favorites neatly filed into 23 named folders. And indeed, some folders have folders within folders (ie. sub-catagories) so there are in fact more than 23 folders altogether. I'm not going to count them all though, as that would be rather nerdy.
I'm now wondering if I'm alone in having so many website favorites all neatly filed in folders? Do let me know.

Probably.
Definitely
I'm not sure how many I have stored in bookmarks (as Firefox calls them). I know I have to scroll a long way to get to the bottom! Maybe I need a few folders like you:-)
And in Google Reader - about 130 blogs and news feeds. Oh dear...
John & Joe - I'll take that as a "definite maybe" then.
Lane - I couldn't cope without my folders. "A place for everything and everything in its place".
I do have favourites but not that many!
CJ xx
CJ - by the time you get to my age you may have even more!
I daren't even try and work out how many I have. I, too, have folders, sub-folders, and all sorts of 'favourites' that I was sure at some time were vitally important.
I really should think about deleting some of them.
How can you have 568 favourites? Has the word changed its meaning?
Ah yes, bookmarks for me, with folders within folders. Aim to keep folders to less than 20. Generally fail.
Also an accountant ...
Debs - I think I need to have a good clear out of these "favourites" and then I'll have a recount. I'm glad I'm not the only one with loads there at present.
cheshire wife - I think the term "bookmark" is better than "favourite". However I am well read with an ecletic range of interests which I assume is what you were implying with your comment.
Catharine - great minds work alike.
Well I used to have lots but our computer has had to be reset to factory settings so everything is gone. Sigh.
DJ - well at least you were still able to find my blog! I would hate to lose all my favourites although they do need a good cull.
Yup. X
P.S. I have 31. 29 of those are my children's.
Will add Troy to favourites and then will have 3. Tra la!
LWM - you mean I wasn't there already? And they say "three is a crowd".
Just popped over from CJ as I was intrigued by the East Anglian bit. You got me pondering on the Favourites bit so as I work from home I decided that I really needed to count them. I have 40 folders plus a further 45 single sites. I counted a few random folders and they averaged 15 sites. I gave up at this point but I'd like you to know you are not alone. I would also point out that as we are both in East Anglia it might be the water...:)
Hi Tattie - welcome to my blog. I've just been over to yours and liked what I saw so will be back for a longer read later. So, its Anglian Water's fault is it?
Haven't counted them and before I had children I was organised. Now "Chaos" is my middle name.
Can't believe you came up to Northumberland and did not call in to say "hello"! Tut. Tut. :)
Hadriana - next time I promise we'll call by. I was only looking at your updated B&B website earlier this week (looks great!). We were on a tight timetable getting back home with my father this time.
That's OK then...you are forgiven.
BTW there's a Hadriana award for you over at mine. I'm sorry it's not a special stalwart one but I'm rubbish at awards and such like. I've decided to have an awards amnesty.
Hope that does not sound mean of me...but I'm just trying a few things out ...new brush sweeps clean and all of that...
No is the answer to your question, Troy. But hubby who is a Ch.Ac. doesn't know the meaning of the word folders. How strange is that when I have folders within folders and not a clue about financial matters. I only do the typing ... smiles. Having said all that, I'll say Hi, was just passing, and head off back to Blogshire.
Valerie -thanks for passing by. I'm glad I'm not alone in having all these favourites in folders.
Troy...where are you? Have you stopped blogging????
Hadriana (and everyone else) - sorry I've been away for a week on holiday. Will hopefully blog about aspects of it very soon.
